William T. Fortune
Attorney William T. Fortune graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1996, with a Bachelor of Science in the School of Business with a specialization in Accounting. In 2000, he received his Juris Doctorate from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and became licensed to practice in the State of Alabama that same year.
Mr. Fortune currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife and son.
Mr. Fortune exhibits a natural talent for adoption law; he has served as lead counsel in cases involving numerous family law issues; including, but not limited to, dependency and neglect, visitation, parental responsibility, parenting time, family reunifications, custody, and adoptions.
He has sat as Daily Master on numerous cases addressing Domestic Relations issues in divorce court. He has also sat countless times as Special Circuit Court Judge, addressing juvenile, domestic violence and protection from abuse issues.
Mr. Fortune has efficiently and effectively represented hundreds of clients on a variety of issues involving Criminal Defense, ranging from Capital Murder, Rape, DUI, Domestic Violence, and Drug Trafficking violations. In Alabama, Mr. Fortune has successfully represented clients in several counties; such as, Jefferson, Shelby, Tuscaloosa, Madison, Montgomery and St. Clair counties.
In 2004, Mr. Fortune established the Fortune Law Firm, an entity whose goal is to effectively and professionally seek justice in the family and criminal law arena and represent clients in arenas requiring justice; including, Criminal Law (Felony, Misdemeanor, DUI and Traffic charges), Divorce, Adoption, Child Support, Child Custody, and Probate.
In addition to being a zealous advocate in family and criminal law, Attorney William Fortune continues his involvement with the legal community. He is a member of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, the Criminal Defense Association, the Birmingham Bar Association and he is on the ethics committee for the Birmingham Bar Association.
